Review
The plot of Bite Me is an interesting one I must say I was intrigued with the idea of a lust demon (one eighth Val would interject immediately) a sucubus to more precise is the lead. A pleasant break from the current over run of angels and greek myths. Don't get me wrong I love a good  story but variety is the spice of life. Okay enough rambling, like I said the main character Val is  a lust demon (sucubus) if you know anything about the lore you know they feed off the sexual energy of their victims this is sometimes fatal, sometimes. Thanks to mommy dearest Val has grown up with a complex about her demon side. Her mother who was unwillingly seduced by Val's father this encounter produced Val.

Has always resented him for it and by extension his daughter though I don't think she' s aware of it. Poor Val gets blamed for everything. After her sister follows Val to a hunt without her knowledge she freaks knowing she will be blamed. Both get busted when they get home. Val is kicked out on her birthday no less and that's where the story begins...

Likes and dislikes, the concept was new and refreshing the demon angle, the characters are different from anything I've read so far. The pace is steady the writing style was is minimal  gets to  the point across without elaborate flourishes of prose, but could use a little something more. Dislikes for me I would have to say the mother daughter relationship or more the way Val's entire family treats her - arms length like she has really bad b.o. I get it she's not exactly human but her mother decided to have the child of a demon what did she expect, but it seems like she's punishing Val for something she had no control over, being born. This is the first in the series  the foundation for which all other story arcs will branch out from. Already seeds of a sub-story are being planted her mother's behavior makes me suspicious there may be more to that story...

I gave bite me a three and half stars the mommy issues were a turn off. Even though it was appropriate in its context it just started being annoying after a while. I started to wonder if Val was a masochist, guys if any of you have read Bite Me before chime in the comments below and let me know what you thought.
