Greek Mythology the new trend in YA

YA trends come in cycles first vampires were all the rage, then angels became the new vampires now it seems Greek Mythology is the new hot button trend. With books like Meg Cabbot's Abandon inspired by  the tale of  Persephone and Hades, and a whole slew of other titles like The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter, Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini will soon hit the market. The response is postive.

Mythology like its predacessors it seems for now is here to stay, as long as we the readers keep buying them. But its always nice to the get the story behind the inspiration for example writer Josephine Angelini backstory before she came up with the concept of her book. Inspired by starcrossed lovers Helen of Troy and Paris, set in modern day. Hence the title Starcrossed.

It really touched me and I felt like sharing with all my bookies. Coined the next J.K Rowling I'm watching along with the rest of the writing community to see if she will step up or buckle under the pressure to fill such big shoes.
