What’s your drink of choice? Is it a small pumpkin spice latte? Then you’re lots of fun and a bit sassy. Or a medium americano? You prefer simplicity in life. Or perhaps it’s a small decaf soy sugar-free hazelnut caffe latte? Some might call you a yuppie. Seventeen-year-old barista Jane Turner has this theory that you can tell a lot about a person by their regular coffee drink. She scribbles it all down in a notebook and calls it Espressology. So it’s not a totally crazy idea when Jane starts hooking up some of her friends based on their coffee orders.

The Expressologist by Kristina Springer

A fun lite read filled with the right amounts of teenage angst. If you are looking for a break from the paranormal fantasy, dystopia books. The Expressologist is the perfect intermission book. To entertain you, and put your brain on auto pilot. The characters are both sweet and nasty. Just what you expect in the world of a 17 year old. 

The mean girl Melissa and her side kick Ginny who's pretending to Melissa's copy. Her co-workers and Derek the mean manager who you could find at any Starbucks if you look. Her BFF "Em" aka Emily who always has her back. And Cam the guy she didn't see coming. The characters are dead on and believable. The setting of the coffee shop reminds of many a Starbucks I've been in.

Verdict
                                      
I found myself really enjoying the concept of expressology its was new and something I had never heard of before. I wasn't expecting anything from this book but when after reading the synopsis i was intrigued. I'm glad I picked it up. I give expressology a 3/5. For the 13 and older crowd.
