Forget unicorns, we're obsessing over zombies thanks to Carrie Ryan's The Dark and Hollow Places and we want to see what YOU look like as a zombie! From now until May 6th to enter the ZOMBIE YOURSELF contest! What could you win? Well, the grand prize winner will receive signed copies of Carrie Ryan's zombie series AND a phone call from Carrie herself! How cool is that?
There are three ways to enter the contest. You can make yourself up to look like zombie, snap a pic and submit that, or if you're a little camera shy you can submit an illustration of what you'd look like as a zombie. Finally, if your both camera shy and aren't quite the Picasso some members are, you can always submit an essay describing to us what you'd look like if you were a zombie (in 200 words or less). Get creative buzzers because Carrie will be choosing the most memorable and creative submissions to win!
Now for the full rules and regulations:
1. HOW TO ENTER: Enter this Contest by submitting either an illustration, photograph, or essay (no more than 200 words) depicting what you would look like as a zombie, and entering your full name, address, email address, and date of birth in the form on RandomBuzzers.com. Entries must be received by Random House no later than May 6, 2010.
LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON.
2. ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia who are over 13 years of age as of October 8, 2010. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Random House, Inc., and its parent companies, assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and their immediate families, and persons living in their household are not eligible to enter this contest.
3. PRIZES:
One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a phone call with Carrie Ryan, one (1) DVD of Fido, and a signed copy of The Forest of Hands and Teeth, The Dead-Tossed Waves, and The Dark and Hollow Places. Total Retail Value: $50. Prize is nontransferable and nonrefundable.
Two (2) Runner-ups will receive a signed copy of The Forest of Hands and Teeth, The Dead-Tossed Waves, and The Dark and Hollow Places. Total Retail Value: $37. Prize is nontransferable and nonrefundable.
4. WINNERS: The grand prize winner and two runner-ups will be selected by Carrie Ryan on or about May 13, 2011 from all eligible entries received within the entry deadline. The selection will be based on creativity, originality, authenticity to known facts about the zombie apocalypse. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decision of the judge, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Winner must complete an affidavit of eligibility and comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. By participating in the Contest, each entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.
